Theater Company Seeks Executive Assistant

VORTEX Repertory Company is looking for someone to fill the position of Executive Assistant. Vortex is an alternative theater venue and performance company in Austin, TX. Fun, relaxed environment. Great people. Compensation is $10 and hour. 15-20 hrs per week. Schedule is extremely flexible. Start work mid to late June.

Candidate must have good computer skills! Must be extremely organized, a problem solver, a good communicator. Must have basic math skills and a good telephone voice. Own transportation a plus.

You will be working very closely with the Producing Artistic Director, aiding in the general operation of The VORTEX including: answering phones, marketing, publicity, grant-writing, accounting, book keeping, coordinating employees and volunteers, booking rental companies, fundraising, and planning events.

i havent hung with the vortex peeps in a while (and they are a super fun, fucking nuts group, bonnie collum specifically is a really awesome lady), but i wanted to put this out there -

they arent interested in traditional american judeo-christian society crap. which is awesome, but not for the shy.

i have done the following while performing in a production at the vortex:
1. dressed in all vinyl and sang through a vocal modulator
2. been naked in a hot tub with other naked hot tubbers
3. eaten magic brownies

the vortex is good times, but not for the traditionalist or faint of heart.

if you take are interested in this position, you will be or around naked folk at some point. so start hearting your gens.

Yeas, you are right. I was worried for a second that I had called the theatre by the wrong name in my very application, but no, it's okay.
