Tonight on The Monday Night Mash - a fistful of improv with:
- Snackers
- The Perfect Banana
- Murphy
...and featuring the Kick Butt Coffee premier of MERGE!
MERGE, does away with all conventions, formats, and pesky ensembles and distills improvisation down to its purest form: the two-person scene. One after the other, featuring Austin's top improvisers playing off of each other and then one-on-one with audience members selected by lottery. June 23rd's guests will be Kaci Beeler, Roy Janik, Michael Joplin and Asaf Ronen.
Always fun, always free.
Kick Butt Coffee (5775 Airport Blvd #725), show starts at 8 pm.

YES. I don't think I've ever done that before... just done a straight-up 2 person scene with an audience member. But it was SUPER fun.
And the whole vibe of the show was great, too. It was awesome to be buying a drink and see the barristas laughing at the show I was distracting them from.

PGraph plays every Thursday at 8pm! https://www.hideouttheatre.com/shows/pgraph/
Merge was one of the best shows I've seen all year.
edit: To be a little more specific, I thought the show had a fantastic energy in the way that it so effectively and positively engaged the audience.

Thank you Aden for being one of the brave souls.
The improvisers I picked to play (Roy, Kaci, and Joplin) were improvisers that I knew would take care of the audience members and have fun while doing it.
I particularly loved the Match.com scene that Kaci did with her audience member. That woman had never done improv before, maybe never even scene it before that night and here she was playing out this loving relationship.
Awesome.
