Hmmm, what else is happening in that exact same place at that exact same time? Oh, yeah.

Oddly enough, I didn't realize this right away. Kristina did.

I've made a big decision. I'm not going to watch any new LOST until about 18 months from now. I'm waiting until the Season 5 dvds come out. That way, I don't have to wait a week every week to find out what happens next, there'll be absolutely no commercials, the final season of LOST will only be two months away, and best of all, the picture quality will be significantly better. No, best of all, there'll be no commercials.

Ahh... I'm free... free...

After I posted that I thought it was Locke in the coffin...
Asaf wrote:Ooo. Locke could be in the coffin! And that means that Jack was resolving his issues with Locke and the island simultaneously. He finally understood what Locke was trying to do and visited the coffin as part of that. That sounds most feasible so far.

The second they name someone Jeremy Bentham, it becomes pretty obvious who's going to be in the coffin, or at least once they said this Jeremy was dead.

I'm just sad that Jim and Pam didn't get together.

Of course everyone should know who Jeremy Bentham is, I mean if 19th century English philosophers aren't a household name who is!?

The Sayid fight with Mercenary Uno at the beginning had us yelling like a boxing match!

Ben's cold "So?" after killing Uno and subsequently dooming the boat was one of those heartless moments which stand polar opposite to the rest of his actions this finale. Anyone else rooting him on as he turned the glacial wooden island wheel?

I like Utilitarianism.
Plus Bentham was a cool dude in general.
Don't blame LOST just because the public school system failed to give people a proper classical education.

Though, it was an interesting choice because Bentham came after and was obviously influenced by John Locke. It'll be interesting to see why and when Locke chooses/gets his new name, and if his theory of leadership and running the island evolves philosophically along the same path as the theories of the two men who's names he's shared.
Locke was a ver Locke-like thinker. We'll see if he becomes a Bentham-esque thinker. If so, you can probably already make several strong predictions about next season form that alone.

It was also interesting that the Oceanic Six referred to him by his new name and not his old. Dramatic tension and all that, but why keep playing his game once off the island?

I learned Jeremy Bentham is also a character in a movie called "The Man Who Loved Funerals". It is all about a blackmailing scheme.

Chris, do you owe me a milkshake? I do so like milkshakes.
