The World-Famous Badr & Janik--One Night Only!

Post by kbadr »

They've toured the country and headlined all the best vaud palaces.
Variety Magazine called them "the best act to stand on four legs."

For one night only, the perpetually petulant vaudevillian duo Badr & Janik will be performing their world-famous comedy act!

See them before they break into the Talkies and leave the Big Time circuit behind.

Thursday, May 22nd
8pm
ColdTowne Palladium

If you don't do this again at some point when I'm in town the two of you may inexplicably find yourselves locked in a basement at some point, with a video camera recording you, and a letter instructing you to do it again.

But for that to happen first you'd both have to be in a city where basements can be regularly found.

damn rehearsal! I really wanted to see this. If that quote from David is anything like the rest of the show, then I'm deeply saddened I missed it.

It started out with a vaudville routine with Kareem as the straight man and Roy as the goof, but then subsequent scenes delve deeper into lives, revolving around their struggle with fame, a rival act stealing their ideas (or, perchance Roy is secretly selling the acts for money to survive).

Near the end of the show, Roy snaps, their act is unraveled, and slapstick ensues after the immortal words, "Who wants to see two foreigners fighting?!" After the fight, the little orphan boy starts a slow clap and alls well that ends well.

Very tight, sweet improv with touches of the dramatic sprinkled throughout.

I LOVED it! Very impressed and inspired!

I loved it as well. I wouldn't mind seeing future episodes. I could see these characters performing at "This Place" or "That Place" on occasion.

I've had this window open for several minutes trying to come up with words to describe how wonderful this show was.

Mission: failed.

Too good for my limited vocabulary.

I'll say this though:

PGraph delivers every single Thursday. You all should be there as often as you can.

... and keep in mind that pretty much everyone here gets in for free, so I don't benefit as the theater owner. I'm unbiased in this matter.
