The first ever Scene Fest!!
Hey guys, Jeff Britt and I were talking about our love of movies and I resurrected an idea I had a ways back and we are making it happen this Sunday.
SCENEFEST
Sunday, May 11th, 7pm - ???
This is where people bring their favorite scene of a particular theme from a movie.
This week's theme: Favorite Seduction Scene in a movie.
This will most likely be in my house where I can play DVDs or VHS. I may see if one of the theaters is available for use instead.
If you want in, you have to PM me or email me (yesandasaf[at]gmail) and let me know. Also you have to tell me what scene you will be wanting to show. It will be a secret from all others, but I will keep track to make sure there are no repeats. If you have more than one option it would be best.
So who is in on Britt's and my film geek out session.

So the first Scenefest was a smashing success. A good number of us got together to watch our favorite seduction scenes. The movies excerpted from, in order, were:
Out of Sight
Blue Velvet
The Thomas Crown Affair (original Dunaway/McQueen version)
Crash (Cronenberg)
Richard III
Bonnie and Clyde
Office Space
Spanking the Monkey
Secretary
North By Northwest
Bound
We plan to do another one soon with a brand new topic that we pick scenes for.

Yep! I loved it!
For next time, I would suggest Favorite Chase Scenes, but I won't because I fear it would get old fast, like we'd be desensitized to chase scenes half way through. Favorite Seduction Scenes was a great theme because man, great seduction scenes vary so greatly in style, and it's just... seduction scenes are awesome.
Asaf suggested Favorite Dream Sequences, which I think would be very fun, and I can think of a whole lot of em just off the top of my head.
What about Favorite Movie Scenes That Have Just Stuck With You Through Your Whole Life And In Some Way Have Maybe, Maybe, Possibly Influenced The Way You See The World?

Is there a "No David Lynch movies" rule in effect? Or are we aloud to sit through the entire movie of Eraserhead? The Brigadier wrote:Asaf suggested Favorite Dream Sequences, which I think would be very fun, and I can think of a whole lot of em just off the top of my head.
Only kidding. As for dream sequences, I've got several in mind, too, but, much like my previous statement, they're mainly from Coen Bros. movies.

awesome. i want to pick movies from those.TexasImprovMassacre wrote:favorite unexpected death scene

*and for a kind of rules note and reminder, this is ideally not a thread in which to list movie titles unless they are a recap of the scenefest night. it is fun to let the titles be a surprise. alright. cool.

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

If I could have made it, mine would have been Harvey Keitel and Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver. I think we're all better off this way.Asaf wrote:I keep thinking of new seduction scenes. Hey bryan, i'll give you the spoiler, and you tell me the movie it spoils.
At the end of the movie, a blue collar hero makes the toughest decision of all; fuck earth.
