Best Non-sequiturs, 2008

Post by the_orf »

I have seen many shows this year wherein a given line, by itself, is not necessarily that funny. But when coupled with the preceding line, which was completely unrelated, that spoken line is utterly brilliant. I think this type of creativity deserves its own category. Ergo, this thread.

I will start with this lovely non-sequitur culled from the "Best Lines" thread, because it fits better here:
ratliff wrote: You're Not My Real Dad w/ Ali Farahnakian, 3/28/08. Ali and Dave Buckman are playing a father and son:

Ali: I get it. I was thirteen once.
Dave: BULLSHIT!
Ali: Okay, that's fair.

And then I will add this gem from The Knuckleball Now's 4/26/08 show at SVT:

Craig Kotfas and Lee Eddy are playing an extremely wealthy husband and wife aboard their luxury yacht.

Lee: I want a divorce.
Craig: You want onions with that?

(It a testament to Yes-And-ing, Lee took the non-sequitur and ran with it, asserting that not only did she want onions with her divorce, she also wanted home fries. Brilliant!)
