ACTION ITEMS:

•Non Profit Status
Erin Plischke will check out (with his current employers) what the process entails and what the pros and cons of actually Turing the AIC into a Co-op vs. A non-Profit Organization. Both options will allow us to solicit Money and Grant from the State of Texas. However if we are a Co-op, We would also be subject to some Financial recording requirements and limits on how we spend our money, but we will be able to apply for tax-deductible incentives

•Name Change
The Notion was brought up to officially change the name of the Austin improv Co-op from something that sounds less hippie-ish, while still being open to applying for actual Co-op Status.
Calling ourselves the AIC (Community? Coalition? Council?) was brought up and generally well-liked.

•Mission Statement
Bob Apthorpe and Andy Crouch will construct a proper Mission Statement, Vision Statement and a set of Core Values. A brainstorming session resulted in the following ideals to be included in the finished copy:
oImprov Community
oGrowth
oAwareness
oProfessional
oAll-Inclusive
oSupport
oFoster talent
oFoster Growth
oOutreach
oTeaching
oPublicity
oDiversity of Arts
oNon-Racial discrimination
oCreativity
oTheatrical Form
oDeveloping an Austin-style of Improv
o…and cookies

It was also decided that that the Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Core Values should also include the following sentiments:
obe benefit oriented,
oabout community growth
oa declaration of we want and how we will go about doing that.
oTransforming a person from general public  audience member  student performer  teacher  guru
oDevelop what it would take to achieve the above process
oApply improv lessons into people’s everyday life

•Committees

I'm really pleased to see a community coming together like this and agendizing itself so well. This is really laying the foundation for a successful and longstanding progression of the art form.

I wish I could be there...
