I couldn't find where the prizes were listed. Is this a money-maker... or a title reward only?

Ann, Amy, Sara, James, Chris, & Joanna did Karaoke tonight at the Common Interest and were solicited to join this competition. Teams are limited to 2 male, 2 female members. Yes, this is competitive, and YES there will be a certain team that dominates.... can't wait to see what other teams crawl out of the wood-works.

$25 to compete for the title. It buys you a free night of drinks and a t-shirt.

Hi!

Post by Whitney »

Hi guys!

My name's Whitney and I'm one of the founders of the karaoke league. We're really glad you guys are interested! I can't even think of anyone that would be more perfect in this league than improv-ers.

Registration is going to be open until February 27th, or as soon as 48 members sign up for the league, so we hope even more of you guys will register soon!

To answer some of your questions, yes, the league is competitive, but the focus is on having fun and meeting new people. Everyone in the bar on league nights--whether they are in the league or not--gets to vote for their favorite performers in each round. Because of this, it's fun energetic performances (and not the ability to hit every note perfectly) that matter.

The league registration fee is $25 and that covers the karaoke equipment and dj for the entire nine week season, your team t-shirt, bar tabs for the first and last week of the season, and weekly drink specials. We've arranged for everyone in the league to get $2 domestics, $2 margaritas, $2 long islands, $2 cosmopolitans, and $3 appetizers.

You can sign up as part of a team or as an individual and we'll assign you to a team. Teams can have up to 8 people on them, and must have at least 2 guys and 2 girls. The winning team at the end of the season receives a bar tab, a big shiny trophy, and the right to call themselves the first ever Karaoke National Champion.

We hope you'll sign up!

Last Day to Register!

Post by Whitney »

Hi guys,

Just wanted to drop everyone a line to let them know that registration for the spring season closes tomorrow, so if you've been procrastinating to sign up, this is your last chance!

Let me know if you have any questions!

I'm in. I signed up freelance and I'm gonna roll the dice and see what team I get placed on.

Last night was the first night of this contest and I had a blast! You guys should come check it out and cheer me on (or you can cheer for Ann if you like)

I got selected at random to compete in a karaoke duel. We had to choose a number from 1 - 30 to pick our song at random. I chose number 16 and the song that came up was "Fight for your Right". Needless to say I knocked it out of the park and won a FREE APPETIZER! Woohoo! Finally my karaoke obsession is paying off! :D

Tonight I competed in the "group song" round and did a duet of "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benetar. We tied for 1st place! Next week I hope to melt their faces off in the solo round.
