Some decisions are life decisions Cody.

Is this one of them? ...I don't know.

But I do know this: You are a manmanwhore. I have a video of Man Man playing from a couple years ago -- I will give you a copy of this video. ...which you can watch on the way to the Oh Sees show.

Haven't seen quite as much as I wanted to--mostly I've seen free day shows at Ms. Bea's. Definite highlights have been Parts & Labor (fucking amazing) and YACHT. Also dug what of Telepathe I saw. These Are Powers didn't quite do it for me, but they seem like they've got the juice to become a really cool band. Uh, who else?

Anyhow, Parts & Labor. Whoa man, love 'em.

Brother, I'm going back to see Thee Oh Sees at a house party (408 Josephine) today ay 4:45 -- should be awesome. They played last night at Art Authority for about 15 min -- they literally snuck in between two other bands because the whole shindig was running 2+ hours behind and they were wiped (drove in from Marfa in the a.m., played an earlier show), so they just banged out a quick set and got out of there. But those 15 min were clearly the highlight of the whole night at that place. Anyway, that should be good -- go go!!

Also, Thurston Moore and the New Wave Bandits @ French Legation Museum at 4:30pm. Prob won't be there but heard good things about them (they played a wild short set at the Lou Reed tribute).

Also some good stuff going on at Waterloo Park this afternoon.

Is the Waterloo stuff the Mess With Texas party? When do the comedians come on? I want to see Eugene Mirman.

Man, Friday night at Mohawk looked to be awesome night, though I never made it there. Thurston Moore headlined, J. Mascis was right before him, and a bunch of Ecstatic Peace artists (including Be Your Own Pet) played. Daaamn, probably hard to get in, though.

PS you guys, British Sea Power is coming to Austin on tour on April 12. You should gooooo.

i saw a lot of okay bands and some bad ones. the brother kite were really good though. even if the pitchfork review totally misses the mark -(http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/news ... w-solarski). it makes me so mad, it totally missed the mark on how packed the place was and how much everyone was into the show.

For you Cat Power fans, I give you Emily Jane White. Emily sounds uncannily like Chan Marshall.

If you were at Waterloo and this came on the speakers, you would think it was an old Cat Power album or something.

Soft, dark, beautiful. Who saw her at SXSW?

Been meaning to put this up here for a while.

Celebration's Modern Tribe. I really dig this.

The track included in this gives a decent idea of the sound of the whole album:

A little TV on the Radio in the vocal delivery, but with a female singer. Makes sense since both bands are on 4AD.
