The more I think about this, the more it makes sense to me. He lied to his friends and set them up to be captured. His love is dead. Walt could still be on the island.

And it's not said that the person in the coffin is with the Oceanic 6. It's just someone who Kate and Jack knew. And I don't think Kate would feel the need to see Micheal--not with her mad streak against most males who aren't fully on her side and/or making sweet coconut love.

I want to be at this sleepover! I mean come on, a sleepover with the two coolest guys in the AIC? Can Asaf and Vines come too? I'll make cookies and bring clothes to play dress up in. We can do eachother's hair, tell ghost stories, and cry at the end of lost! Then we can have a big giant tickle fight.
Wow.
I'll put on my tickling shoes.

HERE ARE MY THEORIES (MIGHT BE UNCONFIRMED SPOILERS)

I liked tonight's episode a lot. Could have used some more new information. We already knew that Mr. Widmore owned the boat, the acquisition at the auction basically declared that. Wondering who the man is on the boat though. I am imagining that it might be Boone. Yeah, he is dead. But does death mean much when you have dead people like Jack's dad walking around? Also, I imagine that Harper Stanhope is dead. I was expecting that info to come out before the end of the episode but I imagine we will learn that soon.

I am starting to think about the qualities of the island based on some of these things. Are these phantoms really ghosts or are they emanations from people's imagination that are made tangible on the island. There seems to be events that support both.

Seeing Jack's dad in the cabin
Polar bear from Walt's comic book
The fact that both Jack and Juliet saw Harper (I am telling you, she is dead)

I have a feeling that the smoke monster is an extension of the latter theory. I think that the monster kills people by sucking the electrical energy out of their brains which when released looks like images from their memory. Similarly the island pulls this energy on a regular basis.

I also think Ben cloned himself and a copy of him is on mainland and he is able to transfer his consciousness from one to the other. Either that or he is time-jumping too. I think that he is how he knows how to play people so well.

Head...swimming...so many ideas...can't focus them...

I was a little disappointed in last night's episode. Seemed like it was a set-up episode for reveals. I mean, Julieete's backstory was sorta interesting, but I think we already know what a jerk-off Ben is. Plus, I didn't appreciate the tease about who the spy on the boat is without paying it off. Stay tuned next week or the week after...

Though I liked the war set-up between Penny's dad and Ben.

I agree. This episode felt like it was stalling.

Theories:
1) The guy in the boat is Michael
2) Ben is time-jumping and a douchebag
3) The final Oceanic 6 member is Kate (+ baby)

Since this is my first post on the Lost board, I must air a longstanding grievance. For once in that damn Lost universe, would someone please answer a question concisely, thoroughly and without reservation?

example
Guy 1: Is that blue or green?
Guy 2: Green. Let me tell you why. It has a specific reasons for being green which is blah blah blah. It is not, never has been and never will be blue because blah blah blah. And that's that.

but in the Lost-verse
Guy 1: Is that blue or green?
Guy 2: You must trust me that it's the right color.
Guy 1: You didn't answer my question.
Guy 2: I will tell you who or what made it the color that it is. Later.
Guy 1 (pulling a gun on Guy 2): I don't want to do this. Just name the color.
Guy 2: If you kill me, nothing will ever be blue again. And the orange people will kill you.
Guy 1(puts gun away): Let's go stare at the ocean and talk about red things.

AHH. Making that example made me hate Lost all the more. Hate-love, that is. Cheers.

Rousseau was not on the flight. She can not be one of the Oceanic 6.

For once I'm totally caught up, and can read this whole thread without fear of spoilers.

I have nothing to add.
