spoilery for new epi...
a couple of fun new questions, especially concerning daniel farraday's experiment, but i felt like this episode functioned as a bridge to next week's more than it was a satisfying story on its own.
& some programming updates: it's rumored that, now that the writers are back, there will be a break after the 7th episode. then after the break, the spring season will conclude with 6 new episodes, making this a 13 epi season. that number is scaled down from the previously planned 16 episodes.

If you disrespect your character, or play it just for laughs, it will sell some gags, but it's all technique.

I loved that Daniel's reaction to the time experiment, instead of an incredulous, "whoa, that is really weird," was a very worried, "oh, this is not good."

I have a theory based on this dharma initiative video from last year...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bTvAUVPyLI
here's the theory, written in "spoiler" indigo: What if the guy who Sayid answered to in the veterinary clinic at the end of 403 was in fact not Ben Linus, or at least not the Ben Linus of whom we know on the island? I'm not sure how that's relevant to the main story arc, but if there are two Bens, that fact might end up being a big piece of the puzzle...
