Wow, this is quite the stretch. Just like the whole H = 8, O = 15. The last time people started playing mind games like this, a really crappy movie came out with Jim Carrey at the helm.
Brad, this is different than that dumb movie. This is most likely the producers having fun throwing in funny little clues that the Island's magnetic anomalies are going to be revealed to be associated with Holmium. I don't think it's a stretch, either. There are at least 3 references to HO that could not have ended up in one episode by accident.
No, I'm not saying that they aren't making references to the element... That could be quite the case. It's far fetched to claim that the H = 8, O = 15 is intentional, too. While the references could totally be there for Ho, it's stupid to read too far into it by finding out something that just happens to fit into a lost trend like "omg! if you count from the top left corner of the periodic table and skip every third element, you wind up with 23 when you stop at Ho!"

I do like the first few mentions the article gives, but the 815 thing just made me roll my eyes. Also, don't read too far into atomic mass. In one of my textbooks, they list the mass as 164.93031. Precision is overrated.

Ha ha. I see where you're coming from. You just don't know a lot about physics. That's fine. You see, when you're integrating atomic mass figures into superstitious puzzles in pop culture, you're supposed to stop at the first zero to the right of the decimal point. Simple mistake.

ps: After I watched like the best episode ever, I called the phone number that was on the TV that the pilot was watching. Fun. I love that they do that.

Consider yourself lucky! Kareem and I have been having to watch episodes downloaded off the web on Saturday, since Lost takes place during PGraph shows. Last week's episode was subtitled in Swedish.

Hmmm, I guess I could set my VCR... if I can find a blank tape and figure out the arcane/antique steps necessary to make it work.
PGraph plays every Thursday at 8pm! https://www.hideouttheatre.com/shows/pgraph/

ABC's video technology has gotten a lot better for watching shows on their website. For some reason, I can never get it to work with any browser except IE (or those based on IE).

It worked for me too but only after downloading a special (but free) plug-in
