Electrician and HVAC recommendations?

Post by LisaJackson »

Hello pretty people,

Do any of you have recommendations of electricians that have done work for you that you trusted and did good work? I need to have my outlets grounded and a few outlets installed. I have one recommendation of a guy that isn't licensed which I think means I wouldn't have a contract.

Also, I have a couple odd HVAC things I need done. Any recs on that?

Lisa, I highly recommend Steve Lyons. We've only worked with him a little bit (also for ungrounded outlets stuff) but he was great and upfront and fair. AND he came with great recommendations from two co-workers, one of which used him to rewire his entire house, and another who is picky about recommendations.

I'd love to hear an HVAC recommendation too, though. We need some work in the next year or two.

for HVAC - I used to use ARS which is a big national chain and it worked great for just a basic checkup, but they were awful when I bought my new place in '06 and needed to replace the outside unit. It was a huge ordeal and I eventually had to not use them.

I ended up using a guy who has his own one-man company, A.C. Services. Very thorough and reasonable and he didn't try and force me into something I didn't need. If you do go with him - he's super duper nice but will talk for ever and a day about HVAC systems. It's hard to do but you just need to basically tell him that you need to go, even if you don't. You'll probably channel him in as a character in your next show. He knows his stuff, though, inside and out (my job was complicated) and I would recommend him any day.
