Wanted: Old Manual Typewriter

Post by kbadr »

Does anyone have a working old typewriter they want to get rid of? I'm looking to get one of the old antique-looking types with circular buttons. If you know me, you can probably figure out the kind I mean. I've wanted one for a while. I'm trying to avoid buying on eBay since they weight at least 30 pounds or so.

are you looking to use it for writing or for a prop?

If no luck here Kareem, do a sweep of the thrift stores -- they're always around.

Typewriter

Post by LaCicatrizKerri »

My friend, Bryan Nelson, runs the "Typewriter Museum" on East 6th sort of near Navasota, I think......it is really his house although I think, since he married, he lives in his new wife's casa on S. 1st.....anyway, Google that shit and go there! It is so fun! It is just a quirky little house to tour but he will negotiate sometimes if you wanna buy a cheap old machine OR he can tell you the best thrift lands in which to find such treasures....I am addicted to the thriftin' and will keep my eyes out for you, sir. Still, check out the "Museum"....it is cool-nice-like-the-olde-days-fun-times.

Found one on eBay. $60, plus shipping. Not too bad, and it looks to be in good condition. We'll see when it gets here.
