They tend to pop up around 3-5 AM the next morning. I can always tell if I've been up too late if the episode is up before I go to sleep.Roy Janik wrote:Oh, sweet. It wasn't up last night, but it is now.

I finally watched the new episode.
Eh, it's ok. I think with these flash-forwards, and knowing that the writers have the whole thing plotted out, I have much less tolerance for hints at what happened that they haven't shown me yet. Having the characters talk vaguely about events we haven't seen, just to create artificial tension, feels a little cheap. Just tell me what happened. Rip off the bandaid. Stop stringing me along.

If there was no detectable motivation for them to be vague in the flash-forwards, I might feel that way. But it seems that something awful has happened, and it was bad enough to make them reticent to define it even in each other's exclusive company. It doesn't feel like they're stringing me along so much as they're building suspense by making us wonder what the hell could make them so upset about being rescued and back in civilization. But it boils down to whether you buy it or not, and I buy it.kbadr wrote:Having the characters talk vaguely about events we haven't seen, just to create artificial tension, feels a little cheap.
You guys weren't just seeing things... there were definite references to the element Holmium in episode 401:

And if you add up the digits of the atomic weight of Holmium-- 164.930-- you get 23. Ha, they missed that one.The Brigadier wrote:You guys weren't just seeing things... there were definite references to the element Holmium in episode 401:

Wow, this is quite the stretch. Just like the whole H = 8, O = 15. The last time people started playing mind games like this, a really crappy movie came out with Jim Carrey at the helm. The Brigadier wrote:And if you add up the digits of the atomic weight of Holmium-- 164.930-- you get 23. Brad, this is different than that dumb movie. This is most likely the producers having fun throwing in funny little clues that the Island's magnetic anomalies are going to be revealed to be associated with Holmium. I don't think it's a stretch, either. There are at least 3 references to HO that could not have ended up in one episode by accident.bradisntclever wrote:Wow, this is quite the stretch.
