Improvisers + Big, mysterious monster = Cloverfield 1/18/08

Post by Spaztique »

My original plan was to invite my bro and/or a friend of mine to see it, but then I decided: why not just throw out an open invitation to the AIC?

About Cloverfield: Since its preview before the Transformers movie, it's been one of the most talked-about and mysterious movies in the past few months. All we know about it is that it involves a huge monster (yet to be revealed by the reclusive production team), a bunch of survivors documenting everything with a handheld camera, and good ol' Godzilla-type doomed-army-vs-giant-monster action. Plus, it's made by the guys who did Lost.

So, who would like to come watch it and where?

Forget that. Who wants to dress up as a giant godzilla monster to see the movie!

Only 3 days to go. Any takers? Or are all of you just going to go in your own private group?

Problem is that Cloverfield comes out the same day as a movie that everyone isn't going to forget a week later, There Will Be Blood.

I am worrying that it is going to be a waste of time. So I am letting others be my canary in the coalmine.

I'm just going to wait until everyone else sees the movie, writes about it online, and then I don't have to see the movie at all.

I'm kind of infatuated with There Will Be Blood, myself.

Then how about back-to-back viewings?

Or is nobody interested in going with me? I completely understand if you guys want to go on your own (or not at all).

Not that the Chronicle always knows best, but Cloverfield got 4 stars and There Will Be Blood got 4 1/2 stars.

I enjoyed Cloverfield, but There Will Be Blood is one of my favorite movies I have ever seen.

On a whim, I saw Cloverfield on Saturday. I liked this movie. Smartly put together and intense as hell at times.

I CAN'T WAIT 'TIL I GET A CHANCE TO SEE THERE WILL BE BLOOD!
