Austinist review of Whirled News last saturday.

http://www.austinist.com/archives/2006/ ... onight.php

Somewhat harsh. But have they ever wrtten up a good review of an improv show yet??

I saw the show last sat, and I'm glad I went. Though it did start off slow, there were some brilliant moments I enjoyed.

thanks for the good words nadine.

i know the austinist hasnt been a fan of improv thus far, but we *are* going to get there - there is a level of play that we (WNT) and the community as a whole has yet to achieve.

but i think we all know that we are going to get there.

i think jonothan's assessment is accurate - the show's pacing, cast rapport and energy was *meh*. i wrote to thank him for an accurate review (sans the individual call outs).

for everyone's learning curve - i made the mistake of bringing out reviewers before the cast had fully gelled. a review would have been more appropriate at the 6 week+ mark. that was 100% my fault.

that said, i am completely confident in the ability of the cast and show.

i fully expect us to be knocking them out of the park by august.

I'm sorry I missed the show. I feel personally responsible for not adding my obnoxious ga-faw to your energy level. I'll be there this, SAT, though. AND, I have to say...

***Erika & Jen's long-time committment to producing this show is so incredibly AWESOME!!! How great for your (all-star) cast to know the team has longer that 3-4 weekends to craft the already Entertaining World News Tonight format into a GREAT-HONKING, BIGTIME MONEY-DRAWING & LIFE-CHANGING SHOW!!!

I see stars in your future, WNT!!!***

And in other news.....
