Hello!
I'm new to town. I was involved in improv, acting, and producing indie films six years or so ago. Now that I'm in Austin, I'm trying to get involved again. I'm in Shana Merlin's Level II Improv class at the Hideout.
I'm also looking for a full-time job that'll pay the bills. I currently have a part-time job selling retail wine and prepping food at a wine/tapas bar. I used to teach high school science for a few years. I used to work for a promotional products company as an administrative assistant for a couple years as well. I have a Masters of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. I'm open to possibilities! I'm great with making presentations, public-speaking, etc. Any leads? I'll take 'em.
Thanks,

Austin ISD is always looking for qualified subs in math/science. Go to http://www.austin.isd.tenet.edu/inside/hr/ if you have any interest.
Welcome.
Welcome.
I substitute taught when I moved to town. It's a decent gig for temporary work.

Welcome, Alina!
I was in a Maestro scene with your instuctor once where we got "tapas bar" as the suggestion. I had never heard of a tapas bar and swear I heard "topless bar." Shana was happy to take the suggestion and I thought, "What! Are you serious!" I played the scene out as a nerd b/c I didn't want to be typecast as DUDE in the topless bar. The entire scene played out with no mention of boobies or anything like that and I went "whew!" The scene scored a four.
Later, when I mentioned to someone, "I can't believe we accepted 'topless bar' as a suggestion when we had a couple of kids in the audience," I was corrected.

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

Thanks
Thanks for the substitute teaching suggestions, but I make about the same at the part-time job that I have now, so it wouldn't make sense to switch. I'm looking for a full-time position. I appreciate the advice though!
Thanks for the welcoming responses as well! Nice to meet you all!
