Mad Hatter, Storybook Characters Needed for Haunted House

Post by ArsenicJulep »

I volunteer with Heart House of Austin, an after-school program for low-income children, and we're doing a Haunted House on Sunday evening the 28th for the kids and their guests. I'm looking for improv-ers to volunteer to interact with the children in character.

The theme for the event is "storybook characters." I'm going as Alice in Wonderland, and there's going to be an entire "Mad Tea-Party" room, in addition to the "Wizard of Oz" and "the Enchanted Forest." We're still looking for a Mad Hatter and March Hare/Dormouse/Queen of Hearts; we'd love to have a Headless Horseman, and a Pinocchio or Cruella deVille (costumes available). We also need supernumeraries to entertain kids before they enter the maze, to interact with them inside, and to pass out goodies at the exit. I also have costumes for an owl and Squirrel Nutkin (Beatrix Potter), in keeping with the "forest" theme. This is a charity, so we're trying to keep expenses down; if you have costumes, that would be great. Please call Julia at 512-636-3065, if you can participate. We're going to do a run-through Sunday at 5 pm, and the event is from 7-9 that night.

On behalf of the kids--thanks!
