Dangerous actors - second appeal

Post by Jack »

Ok

Now it's time to get nasty.

Look... what I'm looking for is actors and improvisors with balls. No more wanking around with niceties, and being jolly clever and funny in short form, going nowhere improvs.

Let's do something around the dangerous stuff. You know what I mean...working with those people you can't stand at the improv jams, and instead of avoiding them, work with what it is that irritates you about them, and following it. Going into the places in long form improv that might just mean you'll be a bag of jello at the end of it.

Are there NO dangerous actors in Austin? Are you ALL wimps?

This is a chance to improvise in ways that makes you shake, and make your voice tremble with emotion. This is a chance for you to explore the darker side of improvisation. This is a call for AUTHENTICITY AND EMOTIONAL DARING. This is a chance for you to find characters inside you that you would never have believed existed.

And all this may very well lead to an exciting film...

So get your arses together and reply to this post!

Why don't you eat SHIT, Jack? Nobody asked for your opinion, and nobody knows or cares who you are. You can't just barge into this forum like you're all hot shit and expect people to follow you like lost puppies.

Is that good? Can I play?

That's an EXCELLENT start. A little predictable, and will certainly need to be fleshed out somewhat. But you have the spirit of the thing.

Now who's next?

Part of me wanted to throw up when you called me predictable.

You want to deal with my danger, Jack?
That's so fucking funny.
I'll give you danger in the form of little children and vomit and loose shit flailing all over the place, and retirement fucking plans and extreme debt and real goddam life and late 30's sex and mothers with Alzheimer's and my darkest nastiest thoughts and I'll bet you'll wind up wondering if you should worship me or call the fucking police.
Bitch.
I don't have the fucking time.

Whoa. This is what I have been waiting for around here.

I am so ready to leave these jokesters in the dust and do something rEAL. I'm so tired of avoiding everyone like you said! And being nice!

To hell with those improv jams, lets roll.

I like being nice. That's also real. If you don't like that, you can suck it.

I don't really understand the tone this thread has taken on...but I do know that Jack's a cool dude and I've enjoyed watching him in the jams the 2 times we were there on the same night. Not that he needs my endorsement, but anyone who's looking to do some more 'prov should consider playing with him a bit.

Jack's awesome, and this thread, if I'm reading it right, is hilarious. I'm not sure I can take on any new projects, but if it's an open sort of ongoing type deal, I'd love to stop by.
