Got the gas tank out yesterday. Poured the old rusty gas into a big bucket (and of course onto my shoe). You could literally smell it from down the block. Today, I bought some proper storage containers and Ace helped me transfer the gas from the bucket into the storage containers and my shoe. Now you can only smell it in the back yard. I'll put some pics up tomorrow (as if you cared).

HEY, BOB A! Can you move this thread to the tech forum so I can keep posting on this thread without annoying everybody?

That's totally cool Bill! My last auto adventure involved a new floor jack, jack stands, warm asphalt, and the Acura. Mission: change the oil. Sadly, I couldn't get the torque to remove the drain bolt. The jack stands were sinking into the street and I guessed that Mo would be grumpy if she found me crushed under the Acura, so I gave up.

That said, I find there's something really liberating about removing car seats. "Who's in charge? Me, the guy with the socket wrench."

If you ever get discouraged during the restoration process, just be glad you're not taking on a 1962 Austin Healy Sprite. I swear, this guy is replacing all but 3 oz. of the original car. Probably keeping one of the mirrors.

My dad's been restoring a 1959 Sprite for a year or so. Last time I saw it (almost a year ago), it was completely un-drivable. I'm hoping to take a spin it over Thanksgiving (in addition to taking some promo shots in his 1929 Model A)

My tools were stolen out of the car while it was in storage. SO I GOT TO BUY NEW TOOLS!!!! I took the carburetor off so I could rebuild it. I forgot to get a picture of the carb and the engine compartment before I knocked all the Mud Dauber nests off.

New tools!
