Selling ads in the Playbills

Post by Wesley »

So, our last advertising meeting decided to sell ads on the back of the playbills. We will take 1/3 of the back and place two ads there, so a 1/6 of the page (or they can buy both slots for a larger ad). The price would be $25 per ($50 for both).

So far, I've not had moment one to pursue anyone for this, so I'm asking once again for help. Do you own, work for, have friends that own or work for, or otherise know a business that would like to advertise cheaply?

These are given out 7 shows a week, 4-5 weeks a month to up to 50 people per show (admittedly some shows, like Thursday are weaker, but other shows, like Maestro, sell out continually). Also, these might soon go out beyond the walls of the Hideout (handouts at First Thursday if we can get a table, place stacks at local bars and restaurants, etc).

Please contact me (PM me on here is best, or in person) if you think you can sell an ad for us!

I'll hit up Freebird's and Boomerang Australian Meat Pies because I virtually live at both places and have a pretty good rapport with the staff.

We need to think about the mechanics of getting the ad into the program. The back page text is 5" x 7.5" or we can do a pair of 2.25"-wide columns. So we can do six 2.25"x2.25" ads or three 5"x2.25" ads or some combination. Images format shouldn't be an issue because at worst we can manually paste up and photocopy like in ancient times.

I'd also suggest that we sell inserts for $20; we already spend the time folding and stuffing programs with our own flyers so this should be easy.

Also, do we know what our audience age range is (from the surveys)? My guess is that our audience is mostly in the 18-24 range and we give out about 200 programs a month, in case an advertiser wants to know what they get for their money.
