I love that I skimmed this conversation, saw the PG-13 Red Dawn thing, and immediately started a post that said 'HEY IT WAS TEMPLE OF DOOM' before I realized that exact conversation had already happened.

Birds of a feather...

Dudes, you see what is written on the restroom wall in Raising Arizona?

Oh my god! We totally should have a Dreamscape watching party. I still have a VHS player.

VHS players were commonly known as VCRs.

From the IMDB message board:

This is a remake that should actually happen...

I think it would be awesome to remake this set in contemporary times.

I never thought about that but yeah, this is one of the few movies that a remake would be great for. One of the themes I got from this movie was the importance and effectivness of armed civilian militias. With all the hatred for the government and the questioning of the Second Amendment today, I think a modern version of this movie could do some good for America.

....so long as those armed civilian militias have professional writers, stunt doubles, special effects, multiple takes, ........

That would be awesome if they did it as alternate history, where after 9/11 Osama takes over the east coast or something equally ridiculous...Everyone would be offended, it would be amazing.
