TV Tropes

For the narrative-minded, who can't stop studying this shit:

http://tvtropes.org

It's a list of common TV, film, and video game plot devices, or tropes.

That website is my go-to place to find if my writing is getting too cliche'd, and to get ideas if I just want to go hardcore stereotypical for something (specifically anime).

Also, the Story Generator and Pitch Generator makes a great tool for coming up with the cheesiest stories/series ideas on the planet.

Greatest... website... ever...

Thanks, Kareem. You have supplied Shana, Sara, and I rehearsal material for six months.

You were exactly who I had in mind when I found that site.

I'll use it to make a Get Up-specific Bingo card for next year's OoB program ;-)

It's tricky territory mining cliches. One doesn't want to be cliched onesself, but at the same time, one wants to render something recognizable. It is all raw material.

Yeah, I've been thinking on that for a while. Playing archetypes can be powerful, but it can easily cross over into cliche territory if it's half-assed or uninspired.

That site is an endless playground where one can go to figure everything out, for as long as they can tolerate it.

And yes, my tolerance level is substantial.
