Jose Gonzalez will be teaching The Danger Room this Saturday at ColdTowne Theater from 3-6-ish. It's BYOB...seriously. Jose is an amazing improviser and fantastic teacher and will definitely make you happy. Check it:
The Danger Room
Improvisation is an art, which means, as improvisers,
we're artists. The Danger Room assumes that your
experiences and what you create with others (and what
both inspire in you) are what matters and what makes
your art worth experiencing.
We'll facilitate the process by taking part in
exercise meant to stress deceptively simple
fundamentals and to challenge students. Overall,
though, our phasers will be set on "fun" and we'll
have a total blast!
This particular edition of the Danger Room is on
Saturday from 3pm to 6pm with a semi-optional portion
from 6pm-7pm. The semi-optional portion is BYOB, so
you might not want to miss it if you can help it!

I forgot to send this information along, too, just a little bit more background on me:
Jose Gonzalez is a Phoenix native who received his start in acting & performance under bree williams (lower-case letters intentional). In addition to performing primarily with Galapagos, Jose records & performs music in Dangerville (with Michelle Edwards), performs with The Remainders, participates in The Phoenix Neutrino Project, occasionally partakes in solo performances, and has a couple of other improvisational projects in the works. Jose helped develop & produce the Barrow Gang's Scattershot Tour & Hovercraft, a musical improv duo, and is a Co-Producer of the Phoenix Improv Festival.
One of Phoenix's pioneering forces of longform improvisation, Galapagos has taught and performed all across Arizona and North America, including performances at the Chicago Improv Festival, the Los Angeles Improv Festival, the Denver Improv Festival, the UCB Theatre's Del Close Marathon in New York City, and the Toronto International Improv Festival.

Also, in the case that someone shows up after we've already started, I will take part in the time honored tradition of having divulged the secret of improv mere seconds before their arrival and indicating that by saying "...and that's the secret of improv" as they walk in the door.
We won't stop 'til somebody calls the cops
and even then we'll start again
and just pretend that nothing ever happened!

Hey all!
It looks like I have the go ahead to squeeze in one more workshop this weekend before I head out.
I'm working on locking down the day and time (crucial!), but it will be at ColdTowne Theater. That it's last minute makes it exciting!
I'll be posting the day (Saturday or Sunday afternoon) and time as soon as I can, but until then you can text or call for info - sixZEROtwo-486-forty-nine seventy-six and I'll keep you updated as soon as that info is available!
Class info is below - thanks!

Small Ensemble Improvisation (Duos & Trios)
Over nearly 10 years, small ensemble improvisation has exploded in popularity. Working in duos & trios can be a fun and challenging way to expand our artistic palettes and fatten our toolbelts. In this workshop,
we'll primarily be looking at single, real-time scenes (aka monoscenes) with an emphasis on character point of view, playing patient, and reacting honestly & truthfully. We'll then jazz it up by having people play multiple characters and exploring how those dynamics apply to multi-scene small ensemble longforms.
You don't have to currently perform small ensemble improv or even have immediate plans to do so. All you need is a curious mind and the willingness to explore!
