Oooh yeah, solo stringing the pearls, good call.
I also really enjoyed Christina's replay of the show in one minute. Energetic!

Looking down from heaven on your own funeral.
Amy McCurdy played this once when I was directing and she was given circus acrobat as her suggestion.
The lights came up and she said, "I guess I shouldn't have put on lotion that day..."
I pulled the lights. Unanimous five.

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

I'm curious how people are listing these. Are you picking these favorites as a player, an audience member, or both?
As both, I like Slow Lie, Evil Voice, Sermon, and Play All the Players. PAtP needs a strict limitation by the director right away though by having him or her ask for a number from three to seven. That might even get a chuckle out of the audience because it's so specific.

Number of characters is easy to remedied via pick-a-card (have a deck of cards with 3,4,5,6, & 7 only) or any other number of methods that do not require the audience to suggest a number between blank and blank.

Thanks, I knew there was another easier method and was coming up blank before.fbillac wrote:Number of characters is easy to remedied via pick-a-card (have a deck of cards with 3,4,5,6, & 7 only) or any other number of methods that do not require the audience to suggest a number between blank and blank.

I am terrified of all solo games, and almost always have a good time doing them. I still haven't nailed the pacing of Slow Lie perfectly, but it's a fun game.
I've always wanted to do a one-person String of Pearls, but never get to.
I once had a solo scene and the director, as per usual, asked me if there was anything I wanted to do. A Lamb-shaped figure from stage left said "DANCE!" and a Yes, And-shaped voice in my head said "ok. sure!" So I did a pretty pathetic interpretive dance of Humpty Dumpty (which turned out to be a lot shorter than I remember it being)
Silent scene where you play all the characters was fun. I hadn't seen that before, but I had to do it a few weeks ago.

You work your life away and what do they give?

I really enjoyed watching Wes debate himself in a version of hesitation. It could be done with hesitation (audience adding words each time he raises his hand), done with pre-written lines from the audience, or just done by itself. That was fun and hasn't been done in a while. Def. worth adding it to mix.

Thanks! I made that up on the spot. I think I was just asked if I had an idea for what I wanted to try and I loved that game and wanted to see if it would work solo. It was fun. I also want to do a solo Spoon River someday.
I'm picking them based on several things, what I love doing most being first and foremost because if I as a player love doing it, I can get the audience to love watching it. I also listed ones that just seem to sell to the audience everytime (sermon and play all the charaters are almost always 5s if you commit to them). Then I think about risk, because I love taking risks when alone on stage.

I'd very much like to try this game in a show. I think when played well it really shows how much an improvisor can make a scene work by concentrating on making the other person on stage look good. (e.i. feeding the audience member lines they can make work with their 3 choices and move the scene forward.) I've seen the improvisor pimp the audience memeber by continually asking them questions they couldn't answer with their choices and it made me really mad watching it.acrouch wrote:Yes, Sounds Good To Me, I'll Go Along With That with an audience volunteer
I actually want to do this game so much that I sometimes daydream good scenarios to make it work best.
