the jam

Post by Roy Janik »

Tonight is a night for lovers.

Or failing that, The Tuesday Night Jam.

Last week was my favorite jam in recent memory, primarily because we hit scenework super hard, had an audience, and did 3 montages with extensive notes.

Let's do it again. There should be quite a few new faces there tonight, as it's been talked up in several of the improv classes currently going on.

As usual, 7-9pm will focus on warmups and exercises, and 9-10pm will be a mock show of some sort.

Kareem and I will be there, and we are entirely at your service.

I'm going to come to the jelly tonight!

I mean I'll be at the preserves!

I mean I'll show up at the fruit spread!

At what point did this get old? Around jelly?

Roy, I had an idea that I'd like to propose in hopes of making up for our little "cricket fiasco" tonight.

Since there is so much information we want first time jammers to retain in hopes that they might return, why not make up some kind of cheap flyer full of new improviser information? It could list the different urls, and class information, or whatever else we don't want first timers to forget.

This was my first jam in a year or so, and despite a completely fucked-up back from falling asleep on the couch, I had a blast. Roy and the others handled the huge influx of new people with aplomb, and it was great to see so much fun happening all at once. Kudos all around - Tuesdays are very low availability for me, but I will definitely try to make it out more often.

Cody, that is an excellent idea. I'd like to make little business card sized fliers like the free tickets we have that would explain everything.

Are you seriously going to present this and not explain it?
So many questions come to mind!
What does a cricket have to do with urls?
Was it a fiasco that was followed by bodily fluids or just a simple guffaw?
What is the linguistic origin of the word fiasco?
Does Cody like nabisco treats?
I can't continue my day until I know!
