Sorry everyone for taking so long to post this. I did better when I wasn't really the secretary...
Roy - Student show
Seeing a need for new troupes to have more opportunities to play and new students to know more about the community, Roy has taken the initiative to work on a new student showcase show. There will be a trial show on Sunday, August 12. If it goes well it may end up running twice per month. The slots in the show can be filled by new troupes, ad-hoc teams that might want to try working together, shows from students in classes that might want to perform together, and maybe some assemblies form the jam.
There'll be an established hang out place for after the show.
A concern was brought up over whether new troupes would be limited to this show, but that is not Roy's intention.
It was discussed that this type of show would be a good place for a grad show, or a show for a group like Shana's singing class, or maybe a place for lower level classes to get to perform.
There were concerns about marketing/audience and the level of committment required for this endeavor. Roy is picturing the majority of the audience as the improv community at large (to see the new folks) and family & friends of the students in the shows. As for committments, Roy can host if it is bi-monthly and remains on Sundays. Since the intention is that the show will be free, the only other required position will be tech and hosting. Show time TBD, probably 7pm or 8pm.
New Jam at Coldtowne
The first Saturday of the month at 10pm after the ColdTowne and Frank Mills show will be a "very" informal jam. Games, no notes, fun, supportive, etc.
Tuesday night jam
The past 2 months every week there's been 4 or 5 brand new people to the jam each week.
If you haven't been to the jam in awhile come again. There's new people to meet and it would be good to have a mix of experience.
Scheduling
Roy apologizes for taking so long with the last schedule. He's going to start asking for troupe availability a month before the next cycle and try to get the schedule out two weeks before it's set to kick in. This session there were a lot of 2/1 person troupes. For each show Roy is choosing a "headliner" troupe to make sure each show has something of that level to keep audiences coming back. So, the amount of shows groups get might end up skewed with 3/4 shows vs 1/2 shows. This time around troupes were much more readily available which made Roy's job easier, yay!
Asaf's updates
Asaf has been refocusing energies of the AIC, trying to get the name out there. Audience information is being gathered: thank you! It's especially important now that the ads are running to know if they're worth it.
GGG are performing at 1st Thursday at Guerro's. The Harry Potter event will be on the 20th with the Dark Bloodlords improvising. Gift bags are going to be handed out to anyone who purchases the book and we can add anything to the bag. Asaf will get the # of bags, and anybody with stuff to add can let him know. [update since meeting on another thread: Huge number of bags, makes more sense to do targeted handouts]
OOB has asked about sponsoring from the AIC. Last year there was a Cagematch show with split money for sponsorship. This year is TBD. There was one idea to give one of our free extended Onion ads to OOB in exchange for sponsorship.
Banners are being made. It will be up for sickest stories, Guerro's, Harry Potter gig, etc.
Austin Museum of Art
ColdTowne and PGraph are working with the Austin Museum of Art to do improv riffing on "everyday object" art
Protesting the Heat
Sara is planning on doing this in August, probably at the Capital.
AIC family reunion / awards
Val: This will happen again this year, probably sometime in November. Shannon has offered his house to host. The award categories from last year will probably be used again.
Contract with the Hideout
This was mentioned a few meetings ago, the idea of a contract for show/venue responsibilities for AIC shows. It has taken a backseat to other projects. The Hideout toilet was brought up, and the AC. Andy says the toilet replacement will probably be done by OOB. There will be Hideout OOB appreciation days on the 11th & 12th of August. Asaf mentioned we could use the ACoT connection for resources for non-profits for maintenance stuff.
Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association - Downtown Living tour
Asaf and Mike will talk about this. We might be able to hand out some free tickets and become a sponsor for this.
Marketing
We still need someone to do marketing tasks, so Asaf can focus on his other duties. He's thinking that maybe splitting the role up would be a good idea. One person to cover things like ads, radio spots, etc. The other to do events & presence stuff. Shawn is maybe interested.

Upload high def photos. There's a subsection for press for troupes and ideally it could contain publicity photos for every troupe.

Anybody can use this account, ask Andy for username/password. You can use it to send a press release (and use the provided template) about any runs, events, etc. that your troupes is doing.

People like the location. We're going to reserve the back room for the next meeting.
