Please vote OoB as best festival

Post by shando »

Now is the season when we implore our friends to vote for our projects on the Chronicle's Best of Poll. As you are all improvisers, I won't suggest voting for anyting for Get Up as you will be casting ballots for yourselves or what not.

But a vote for OoB to be slain by ACL, SXSW, AFF, for Best Local Festival would be Quixotic and make Jeremy and I happy. We're trying to keep it real for you cats. Thanks.

Just to point this out and state the obvious: the category is no longer "best improv troupe." So don't get shatterd if something like esther's follies wins or something.

Also, while you're voting for OOB as the best festival, could you also vote for Mojo Kickball as best sport?

Thanks for the piggyback, shando!

Also, "Best Justin York" has been replaced with "Best Bicycle Repair."

Maybe we should decide on one improv troupe to push and then get the entire Austin Improv machinery working to beat out Esther's Follies. Junk would of course be willing to accept the responsibility, if called upon.

Please vote BlueBalls as worst comedy troupe

Or we could all just put "Austin Improv Collective" (as best comedy group).

Take this with the obvious bias, but...

ColdTowne is the only troupe with a theater name associated with the troupe. A great marketing tool for us is a great marketing tool for all who perform there is a great marketing tool for Austin improv.

I may be the wrong messenger and this might sound like campaigning, but it is something to consider.

I love the idea of using the Chronicle award as pure marketing, the IBPayne award as pure recognition from the community.

I love the idea that we all pretend like we don't want to just vote for ourselves.
