June 9 - Sauces and Dips Party
This Saturday night (June 9th) is the House Warming party celebrating Christina's decision to live in sin here at The (former) Wes Wing.
The theme is "Sauces and Dips" and to get in you must bring either:
a) a Sauce
b) a Dip
c) something to put in a sauce or dip (breads, chips, sausages, etc)
d) alcohol
Some basic stuff will be provided, but the joy comes in variety, so bring something playful and fun.
There will be contests, just like Thanksgiving, complete with cheesy-ass prizes. We may add more, but right now the categories are:
1) (re)Name this Home! (with the new occupant, the Wes Wing is already obsolete)
2) Best Sauce and/or Dip
3) Best Committed Sin Story
4) Best Living in Sin story
We'll also come up with a Big Reveal to keep the tradition of such things going. I might also spark up the grill if I have enough gas (I have some, but please feel free to BYOMeat). And if it still exists, perhaps drinking Jenga will be played.
The festivities begin at 10:00ish and run until the neighbors call the cops or we get tired and kick your asses out (so 10:30 or 10:45?).
We live at 1804 Capital Parkway #21.
To get there, go South on MoPac and get off at Barton Skyway. Take the feeder almost exactly .5 miles past the intersection and turn right on Capital Parkway. We are the far corner condo in the second driveway past Holly Hill Road (if we remember, we'll get balloons to mark it). Parking in the lot is reserved, so you'll need to park on the street or in the cul de sac. You can probably park in the lot across the street at EZ Corp, but I don't know that for sure so do it at your own risk (their corporate evil may also possess your car if left there too long).
My phone is 2 one 7 - six thousand if you get lost.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the party and for all the kind words and support (and cards). For those of you who couldn't make it and missed the Big Revealâ„¢ it was this: Christina and I are officially engaged.
I asked her in Ithaca during our trip last week after meeting and asking her parents for permission, but we withheld the announcement until we could be surrounded by freinds and an air of celebration and joy. It meant the world to us to have you all there.
Before all the questions begin I'll say that there are not a lot of details yet, as we won't really start planning anything until Christina finishes up with school and such things, but we are looking at spring of next year and I'll be looking into tartan rentals for the ceremony.
And thank you to everyone who brought sauces and dips and alcohol. There were a LOT of good eats there! Homemade hummus and salsa, nutella and pretzels, and chocolate dip and biscotti. Mmmmm... And there were some wonderful sins revealed (and kept hidden, I'm sure) and awards were as cheesy as promised (if the person who claimed to have killed a man could have proven it, I'm sure you would have won a Grow Your Own Pony or Bible on CD of your own). The place got a new name, too, though I cannot remember it right now. And while I'm sorry for the whole pasing out thing, I was celebrating my recent good favor with champagne and 31 year old scotch, so I'm claiming it as my right. All-in-all, I'd say it was a good time for all.
Here's to good friends, good parties, and good fortune in the future! And Go Improv!

That was a blast of a party. I got to interact with a lot of people, like Orf, who I hadn't mixed with much before. I'm first in line to buy his beer when it comes out. Kristin had some unbeatable sins. I like how someone said, "What charity" when Wes read the one about her stealing money from a charity to buy pot and Magic cards. Also, for a little bit of self-interest, I laughed when Wes read the "I have used my handicap to my advantage repeatedly" sin and about about five people screamed my name.
We missed you passing out though, Wes. I'd rather you pass out than slice your face open with a cut champagne bottle.
Oh, yeah, and your balls were delicious.
Long live the King and Queen of CastleBainia!

Which foot? If it's the left foot, we can be scarred foot buddies.Wesley wrote:Don't worry, I put a 2 inch gash in my foot on the same bottle the next morning. I probably needed stitches to be honest but I dont' trust doctors. Here's to good times!
I cut the top of my left foot really bad about a year ago. The day I moved into my apartment, I dropped a glass on the floor. No problem though because I simply swept up all the glass and threw it away. Later that night, I walked through my kitchen in my bare feet and felt something stick to the bottom of my right foot. Thinking that it might have been a leaf or piece of bark instead of a shard of broken glass I missed earlier that day, I moved to scrape it off the bottom of my right foot by rubbing it quickly on the top of my left foot. I felt a sudden surge of pain and looked down to see a large pool of blood forming on the floor around my foot along with a two to three-inch chunk of glass sticking out of the top of my left foot. I hopped my way out of my kitchen, around my living room, and to my bathroom to get a towel. This was also how I met one my neighbors because I had no first aid kit of my own nor spot remover for the blood stains. Luckily, she had both and I kept my foot wrapped in gauze and Neosporin for the next couple of weeks. I have a noticeable scar to this day.
