The Double Barrel turns 1 on July 14th (July 13th being the closest show).

That got me thinking... just how old is Maestro now? 8, 9 years? When can we have the 10 year blowout?

Maestros have been going on regularly since I started playing at the Hideout in Fall of 2001. But the Heroes have probably been playing it since 2000 or 1999.

The Heroes started in 1998, playing "Micetro" Theatresports, and Gorilla Theatre. I don't think Maestro has run continuously for 10 years, but let's not split hairs.

I think 2008 should be a big blowout 10 year anniversary. I'd love to see a reunion show where we get together as many original members as possible. Still in town: Shana, Jeremy, Sean, Eric Von Perry, Craig . . . who else? And people might be convinced to come back for it. Mikey D, Lauren, etc?

When in '98? Is there an exact date of a first show floating around anywhere?

My best recollection was Fall of '98. Maybe you can ask Sean?

I believe the first ever shows, at the Public Domain Theater on Congress, were in November of 1998. Then we movied to the Hyde Park Theater for a year or two, before moving to The Hideout in 2000.

Sean will most likely know exactly the date, but I remember it being November of 1998.

the auditions were in november of 1998. we did two weekends of micetro at the public domain in i think february of 99. then something like a few months at hyde park in the fall of 99 while the hideout was being demoed and built out. i think the official opening party was in the fall of 2000. that's when we started doing micetro regularly and having auditions to expand the cast.
this is how i remember it but i could be off a bit.

I can't contribute to this thread unless you read the subject line as a command, in which case I've got it covered.
