I say play maestro, since that's what the public's coming to see. Cut it down to one director, and you've got at least 7 players signed up. Also, I talked to Craig, and he might play tonight. So that's one more.

I'm willing to be the dude in the booth to make room for a more seasoned (and less rusty) improvisor. Give me a call if you want me to at 512-971-9939.

I think I will have bulgoki today.

It would be awesome if you could do that, Brian - thanks!

Regarding format, I'm flexible. I haven't directed solo yet, but I'm pretty comfortable doing so, if we're that short. I'm double-checking the list now, and I think we're up to eight players or so - I'm with Roy, we should probably stick with Maestro, since that's what people are coming and paying to see, but I'll probably be downtown around 8pm anyway, so if we come up light, I'm amenable to making some last-minute changes.

I'll post who we've got up top, and see how it goes.

Hot shit. It looks like we've got a party going on, here.

I'd like to continue the tradition of kicking ass by starting with a high-energy warmup session beforehand, so if all the players could show up in the green room as close to 9pm as possible tonight, that'd be great, mmmmk?

See y'all tonight!

So, I missed Maestro tonight, with all its picked-up-by-the-bootstraps-in-the-11th-hour kind of craziness. How was the show?

The show went really well! We wound up with ten players, so Asaf and I went ahead as planned. The players were great, the audience was hot, and a good time was had by all.

Thanks again to everyone for piling on and making tonight a success, from our stalwart early signups to the heroes who swooped in at the last moment to help us be awesome. I look forward to directing or playing with any or all of you again soon - maybe with a bit more warning, next time.

how are you guys scheduling maestro now?

i'm interested in dusting off my short form boots for a show in june, and am not sure how it works.

So recently the directors for the week have generally posted a (semi) open call on the Casting thread around Monday or Tuesday on the week preceeding their show, with the sign up being more or less on a first come, first serve basis, with some minor tweeking for balance or other considerations. Of course this is all subject to the discretion of the week's directors, some prefer to put together a more hand picked cast. But as the cast has recently been scewed towards us newbies to the austin improv scene, I'm sure most directors would be thrilled to have some more veteran improvisors join the cast.

So basically a good bet is to keep an eye on the Casting thread around the middle of the week and sign up there or PM that week's director to express an interest.

I'd be into playing on the 26th if there is still room. Let me know.

There's a thread up now on this same forum. Just throw you're pointy hat in there and we can all see how good your magic is.
