Helping Hands needed - Sunday, May 27

Post by Wesley »

Christina and I need an extra pair of hands or two to help lift, move, and arrange a few small pieces of furniture on Sunday, May 27th between 3 and 6.

There really isn't that much left to get (her bed, her couch, maybe a small desk, some whiteboards from Home Depot) so it should be an easy job. To be honest we could probably do it ourselves, but it would be nice to have another person or two to help anyway (less fatigue, extra hands to open doors, navigate, lift, clear paths, etc).

We don't anticipate it taking too long (we pay based on how long we keep the truck so we'll be ready to go) and we'll gladly buy pizza or something afterward.

Any strapping young takers out there?

I'll lend a hand. I owe Christina moving help anyway. Will you call and remind me?

Sure, I'll help. My Kristina and I are moving in a new place in mid or late June, so I should start creating more "he's a nice guy, and we should help him" moments when I can.

Anne Lamott said the other night that after a certain age you shouldn't have to help people move anymore. Fortunately, I have not yet reached that age. I'm in.

Anne Lamott is crazy because I have no idea what that means. Sure, when I'm 80, I doubt I'll help others move. Although, my grandfather still helped people move when he was in his 70s. Hell, he could've probably kicked most of your asses.

I think what she really meant was that you shouldn't feel guilty about saying no, because you've paid your dues, specifically "if you're a woman over 45."
