Jam for 5/15/2007- Operation Game Dump

Post by Roy Janik »

Another week, another jam. Tuesday, 7-10pm at the Hideout.

But this week ain't just the same old same old.

Kareem and I are going to hit the games hardcore. Specifically we're going to focus on the Maestro games that are played most commonly... how they work, why they work, how best to approach them, and (where applicable) how they help make your scene skills stronger.

There are a LOT of new people playing Maestro these days, which is awesome. So this jam is a good chance to get some crucial practice in.

For the last hour or so, we'll run a complete Maestro show, though maybe without the elimination.

I'd specifically like to invite:

* seasoned players who don't normally make it to the jam to come out and share their knowledge.

* new improvisers/players who want more experience learning to be comfortable with the games.

* people who don't necessarily feel like jamming but want to be audience for the last hour (9 to 10pm)

* and everyone else, of course.
PGraph plays every Thursday at 8pm! https://www.hideouttheatre.com/shows/pgraph/

Dudes, it is invaluable if you want to do well in Maestro (or any short-form show) to know how to play the games. Not just the basic rules, but the subtle and not-so-subtle ways to play the game to your favor and the audience's delight.
It can be fun sometimes to muddle your way around the games during the show and figure out what works, but when you have all the techniques at your disposal you can do so much more.

I don't have anything to say. I'm seeing here if my new account works. For the record, I am Jeff Britt. Oh, and a hooya to Asaf for giving me a profile pic idea.
Love,
Jeff Britt

Sorry, Jammers. I just couldn't get my grading done in time to come play with you. Scholarship above social obligations, my friends. Next week, I hope to make it!!
