Hello,

As some of you might know, I've been waiting for the past month to hear about a job opportunity I interviewed for in Los Angeles, which, sadly would mark the end of my time as a full-time resident of Austin. This evening, I received a phone call from the good people at G4, who announced to me that they are to be my new employers.

I will be leaving Austin on Tuesday, the 14th of March, to move to Los Angeles. Though I am supremely happy to have received this job, and to be moving back to LA, there is great sadness involved for me, as well. I wanted to take a moment to tell you al what wonderful people you are, and what a great privledge it's been to know you since my arrival in Texas in September of 1998.

The Hideout and the improv scene has always been my oasis. My refuge from the things in life that have been difficult or unfulfilling. From the original troupe of Austin Theatresports, to Catch24, and Gravy, and The Knuckleball Now, I have grown as an improvisor and as a person to the point where I finally feel confident to re-assert myself in La-La Land, free of the demons that haunted my last six-year stay.

You are, all of you, amazing people, and what you have created here will remain a part of my life forever. I know that sounds melodramatic, but I can't think of a better way to tell you that I love you all, and I wish you nothing but the most amazing successes in your life, no matter where you might find them.

Friday night, I will perform with TKN, as part of my last show here in Austin not affiliated with a festival. I hope against hope that I will have the opportunity to see you all, but, if not, please know that you have all had a hand in shaping my life, and, for that, I am eternally grateful.

One of my earliest improv memories is Mike D'Alonzo playing a retarded manchild who insisted on eating only bran and ended up singing the national anthem at a chile cook-off. That was one helluva national anthem.

I'm very happy for you, sad for us. I remember when we first discovered each other's love for professional wrestling and we spent an entire sushi dinner discussing it while most people around us either wanted to go home or were bored. And then we never stopped. Don't they get it! It's the most intense, insane, amazing form of improv! Sigh.

Wrestlemania won't be the same. Maybe it wouldn't have been anyway (the card is getting better than I thought, but still - it's no x7).

Mike, that is great news for you.

One of my first transcendent moments in improv was opposite you in Maestro. It was a scene that was supposed be silent except that I didn't have the confidence to keep quiet. And I was amazed at how much you were able to pull off just by standing there and reacting physically to my endless babble.

I was hoping to get you in to coach Parallelogramophonograph before you went on to a better place, but I guess we'll just have to come up there and supplicate ourselves before you.

You will be sorely missed.

Mike, it's been awesome knowing you for the past few years, from afar and up close in the new AIC scene.
I saw you several, several times in the audience along with me watching Well Hung Jury shows. And I well remember your integration with those guys when you were in Gravy, which I saw somewhat regularly.

I've grown to really enjoy you and your improv. You will be missed, there's no doubt about that.

I'll obviously miss you. I already do. I was just telling Jeremy the other week how I still feel like you and I never got to be on stage together enough. Anyway, I'm in IO classes, and I think you should get into the scene at IO west. They were talking in my class about how they have a great school out there but a shortage of great players. Monday night ?

I have no concrete plans for Monday, other than spending some "quality" time with my wife before we spend six weeks apart.
