I've worked with almost all of these directors, and they're fantastic. Gary Austin is especially great at bringing the best work out of performers.

If you want to totally geek out on improv for a week straight, these are the workshop retreats for you. It's an all-out improv love fest in Woodstock!

There is another improv retreat called Camprov which takes place every year in Maine. I will be one of the teachers this year.

From the site:
"Camprov is a full weekend of quality workshops, innovative performances, campfire fun, a lobster bake, a canoe race, an archery contest, and much more. Housing and meals are included."

BATS Improv in San Francisco also has a summer workshop. The weekend with Keith Johnstone is especially worth it.

Hang out with Andy P. for five minutes.
See if you still need to after that.
If you disrespect your character, or play it just for laughs, it will sell some gags, but it's all technique.
It's like watching a juggler-- you'll be impressed by it, but it's not going to touch you in anyway. "

Maine is one of the few places where my last name is pronounced correctly. I love Maine!
