The Homecoming is a modern drama by the Nobel Prize-winning playwright, Harold Pinter. It concerns a family of men: Max, the aging patriarch; Sam, his submissive younger brother; Lenny, Max's aggressive second son; and Joey, a young aspiring boxer. Teddy, Max's oldest son, comes home to visit his family for the first time with his wife of six years, Ruth. Through increasingly surreal exchanges between these characters, Pinter explores questions of gender dynamics and stereotypes, sexual power, aging, family dynamics, and moral codes.
