One for the engineers out there...

Post by Matt »

The Greater Austin Chamber and IEEE cordially invite you to attend the first Austin Brain Party - a celebration of Austin engineers!

Engineers drive Austin's tech industry and the Austin Chamber and IEEE would like to recognize their hard work by throwing an engineer-only party. So, if you are an engineer and would like to meet other engineers come out May 1 to hang out with your fellow engineers, have a toast, and listen to some Austin music!

This event is exclusive to engineers and to attend you need to pre-register.

Details:
Location: AMPLIFY Austin parking lot, 2608 Brockton (Burnet Road, one block north of Braker)
Date: May 1
Time: 6:30 –9 p.m.
RSVP: vsegna@austinchamber.com
Musical Guest: Guy Forsyth
Sponsors: Dell and AMPLIFY

It would almost be worth going just to see what an "engineers-only" party thrown by IEEE is like.
On second thought, no it wouldn't.

No offense to anyone, but this might be a good place to flyer and recruit new blood.

Hey, so do I. My wife and most of my friends are engineers of one sort or another. In fact, I have an engineering background myself. I'm a full-fledged, card-carrying, equation-solving member of the tribe. Which is why I feel entitled to make fun of engineers- it's not offensive if it comes from an insider. On the other hand, I would never joke about humanities majors- to their faces, anyway.

But, c'mon, even the biggest engineerophile in the world has to admit that, any time you see the words "party" and "IEEE" in the same sentence, the odds of there being great things in store are smaller than epsilon.
