Wanted: a keyboard

Post by Aden »

I don't want to spend a lot of cash...If you have a keyboard you want to sell...cool.

OTHERWISE....Looking for advice for the most bang for my buck. Casio has something like four models all priced at 129.99 and I can't tell the difference. That's just Casio too. Granted I'd rather spend twenty bucks [cuz I'm a meiser] but...I want something that will let me loop a chord progression so's I can write lyrics to it. Anybody got's any thoughts?

Tanks a mill

what's a good portable keyboard, preferably with a speaker?..
in my younger days I had a korg I-4 and an amp.. it was lovely.. silver.. and i went to bed with it.

Hey! I bought mine at Fry's. It is a full keyboard (almost) and I bought it for around $250.

Yamaha DGX-205 Portable Grand.

I love it!!

All of my friends that are pretty serious about keyboards/synths use Yamahas. Most swear by them. I can check to see if anyone is parting with one, but I doubt they would sell for so cheap.

Check Craigslist?

Buy a Yamaha off of amazon.com or ebay or craigslist. If you want it to be more portable don't get a 76 key.

The new Yamaha's have USB built right in so you can interface with your computer as well as record directly to the memory in the keyboard. AND they have this new thing that is HILARIOUS to me... You can set it up so that when you play a bass note with your left hand, the keyboard plays music in that key AND when you play notes with your right hand it will ONLY play correct notes that fit in that key. They call it "Performance Assistant". Anyway.

Find a Yamaha PSR or YPT that suits your needs. 61-keys, 76-keys, floppy drive ready, etc. etc...
They call me Dollar Bill 'cause I always make sense.

Thanks for all of the advice kids. If for some reason you know someone parting with a yamaha, let me know. I guess 61 keys sounds pretty sweet. Meanwhile, I'll check Amazon.

Thanks a mill,
Aden
