Who/what do you love?
To counteract Phil's wave of seething hatred and the dark emotions it stirred in me, I want to know what it is that people love? People and things. In general. Maybe something other improvisers wouldn't know that you loved.

Purple iris flowers
honeysuckle on the vine
a plate of deep-fried green tomatoes
a plate of deep-fried chicken livers, gizzards, and hearts (not kidding--what can I say, I grew up in the south),
most things Scottish incluing thistles, bagpipe music, and wearing kilts
Dr. Pepper
Tahitian Treat
having glasses
writing
Meatloaf the singer
meatloaf the food (meat in convenient loaf form, people! I like to cut off two slices and put a hamburger patty between them to make the ultimate sandwich. OK, I only tried once, but IT WAS GOOD)
the phrase Klaatu Barada Nikto
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
and scented candles.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and improv.

Goddammit I love DIM SUM! This is an open invitation to anyone and everyone. I will be having DIM SUM on Sunday for brunch. Let me know by the party if you are interested in coming with me. For those of you who aren't in the know, DIM SUM is like eating at a chinese buffet but the buffet comes to you. You sit, drink tea, and eat while carts of food (usually in the dumpling varietal) meander back and forth from your table to the kitchen. Dear God is it amazing.

You won me over Wes, and now I have to list the things
I love:
Blue Bell Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream
Stan Getz, Gal Costa, or any old bossa nova (any old bossa nova is a good name for something I think)
Old actors that have been knighted (minus Sean Connery, I don't love him)
things that remind me of childhood (minus anything tied to Christianity)
the feeling of wet sand
the sound of someone's laughter (especially Jay Bernardo & Dave Buckman's)
people who use outdated slang
outdated slang itself (especially from the 20's, as Greg would say: "Let's hot-foot it to the improv joint fellas!")
my mommy and daddy
old & tattered philosophy books
futurism (and not sci-fi) as a genre
Christian Bale
books that make no sense (A Clockwork Orange)
hand-rolled cigarettes
big bands
the hilarity of racism
pointing out little ironies of life
honesty (I try to use it all of the time)
happy pessimists
the Austin Improv community
restaurants that offer huge menu items for free if you can finish themby yourself in an alloted amount of time (the infamous Food Challenge! or the "Manny Hattan"!)
San Francisco (and the whole bay area)
good poetry (Whitman, ee cummings, Ferlinghetti, Poe, saul williams)
Kandinsky, Bosch & Magritte paintings
anything Shakespeare ever touched
beautiful music with a hint of sadness/grief (The Arcade Fire's "Neighborhood #1 - Tunnels" is a fantastic example of this sound!)
Vivaldi, Chopin, Grieg, Khachaturian
the little steps and minor revolutions
funny t-shirts
absurdist theatre
general wit
people watching
overhearing funny things in other people's conversations
any food classified as "southern", "asian" or "mediterranean" & seafood
large bodies of very still water
the "prov"
finding similarities between me and other people
Bob Mcnichol
new & pointless technology
stupid television
the improv forum
stage-rush OR show-high
and social highs
that should be it.
