FuseBox Festival

Post by shando »

Greetings, friend of Refraction Arts!

We are TOTALLY PUMPED to invite you to our 3rd annual Fuse Box Festival!

We’re bringing in artists and performers from a variety of disciplines from ALL ACROSS THE USA as well as from right here in central Texas. These are artists of global consequence—pushing us forward, entertaining us and making us rethink what is possible. It’s like traveling to Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, the UK and NY without leaving Austin. AND, not only do you get to see their work, but you also have the opportunity to interact, engage, and question, as we are offering a series of talk-backs, lectures, workshops.

Fuse Box turns on Lucky Friday, April 13th!

Read on for the electrifying details…

We are trying to build this into a national event. There is really only one other festival like this in the entire country. But we can’t do it without you.

Here’s how you can help...

VOLUNTEERS

Have we got a deal for you!

If you would like to join the Fuse Box team, you get a complimentary ticket for each shift you work. If you work three or more shifts, you get a whole FESTIVAL PASS! That’s right, you can see it all, just in return for your highly valued labor. And we are so darn nice to work with.

If you would like to volunteer, you may reply to this email, or call 512-927-1118 x 4.

HOUSING

Have an empty garage apartment, a spare room in your house, or another place where a weary visiting artist might stay comfortably for a few days or a week?

If you have housing available in Central or East Austin, we would be so grateful, yep, you guessed it, you get a whole FESTIVAL PASS!

If you have housing to donate, please contact:

FUSE BOX
The 3rd annual Fuse Box festival is 3 weeks of happenings, new experiments, screenings, happy hours, dance, music, performances, and art.

We have assembled an amazing lineup of some of the most vibrant and interesting talents from around the country as well as some of the boldest artistic voices from right here in Central Texas. These are artists of global consequence – pushing us forward, challenging us, entertaining us, and making us rethink what is possible.

Running April 13th through 28th, Fuse Box will not only inhabit Refraction Arts’ Blue Theater, but also take over the Off Center, Austin Studios at the former Mueller Airport, Else Madsen Gallery, the Creative Research Lab at Flatbed Press, the 700 to 900 blocks of Red River, and other locations as well.

For audience and participants alike, we see Fuse Box as a chance to step out of your skin and flirt with something new and unexpected. Think of it as a film or music festival for the indie arts. It’s a time to talk to artists of different disciplines, from all over the United States. World class artists. It’s like taking a trip around the country and never leaving Central Texas.

We wanted people to be able to attend multiple events, so we have super low ticket prices – some events are free – and FESTIVAL PASSES ARE AN INCREDIBLE VALUE AT JUST $40!

Beginning Thursday, April 5th, you can get individual tickets or festival pass on line –
