OMG, were we being too obvious? I guess the secret's out. We're in love. But alas, it is springtime when a young man's fancies turn to thoughts of such things.

Also: THANK YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CAME OUT TO THE JAM BECAUSE YOU ALL FREAKIN' ROCK AND YOU ALL ROCKED THE HOUSE!

We had 20 people at the jam's height, including 3 or 4 new faces who did improv in Dallas several years ago (and one in the class next door who did improv at Second City and IO in Chicago about a decade ago who wants to come back and jam with us in the future). We had lots of fun and Christina and I took turns running games on emotion and choice and everything in between. Everyone played well and played strong and I can't wait to do it again next week!

Nice jam, but I really got smacked around. I played nothing but low status characters all night, and I got hit in the head twice... but it was fun...

It all comes together, doesn't it.

And we're going to work on that next week. I've been ruminating on the trends I see regulars playing and I'm going to try to help break them a little next week. I also want to work on nuance and more complex character states. I've already written up three exercises for next week's jam.

I told my 3D Animation II class (who are studying Character Animation) that they will get a total of 5 BONUS points on their final grade if they show up at the Jam in any of the remaining 8 weeks of class.

So, Wes, if anyone approaches you and says "Sara sent me" let me know so I can give them their 5 points.

That's awesome, Sara!

Even better, if you can tell them to come on a certain date(s) (then tell us), I'm sure Christina and I could have some character-specific exercises ready to go and build a jam around that, particularly with movement and body language which they could maybe utilize in animation.

But if one shows up we will definitely make sure to get a few character or movement exercises into the queue!

Thank you for continuing to rock for improv!

Holy shit, have you guys heard of judge extreme akeem?! He's got a bat that says extreme on it! and when he comes out the people chant "extreme akeem extreme akeem!" ...and his bailif's name is sweet sugar ray...

i'm not making this up.
its a late night judge show where he dishes out the "REAL" punishments. Although it maybe have all been staged. Which would make it a pretty wicked improv show...

I stopped having news-related heart attacks long ago. Cheney could basically eat his own lesbian daughter's baby while holding the press at bay with a flamethrower and I don't think I'd be surprised.
Shannon, you might want to take another look at the news...

also, chris allen is totally awesome improvising dood.

Thanks, Cody, but man you were the star last night. You play calm and cool prov with smarts. Me diggs.

Great job Wes and Christina!
