we're most probably meeting this sunday at the Austin Java Company on Barton Springs after Life Drawing Class (seriously, scroll to the bottom: http://avaaonline.org/ ).
Or I am available to draw/write most days at La Tazza Fresca after 5ish.

I would greatly enjoy interchange of this nature. I have been in and out of writing my own book and keeping ablog of various things. Lately, I am limited in my computer access. Once I get that worked out, I'd enjoy getting back to it andexchanging ideas.

Sure, that could work. Or we could have it at someone's home. I'd be willing to host it at my apartment. I'm pretty sure my place could handle the amount of people who would come. How many came yesterday? What exactly did y'all do? Is it more discussing the fundamentals of writing or specific time spent on works different people bring, workshop style?

I'm in
I am working on a novel, as well as some other odds and ends, and I've been wanting a writing group as well. A forum and a group that physically meets up would be great. And I'm willing to compromise for a coffee shop where we have to pay by the hour.

We have done a variety of things. We have brainstormed ideas for people who are stuck in a particular point on their writing project. We have given feedback on a particular piece of writing that has been brought in. We can also do some onsite writing or pitch writing ideas if that is what the group wants. Basically you use the group as a proxy for whatever whether it be an audience or a commission.Justin Davis wrote:Sure, that could work. Or we could have it at someone's home. Members of the writing group are meeting RIGHT NOW (5:16pm on Sunday) at Spiderhouse -- on the couches inside -- to discuss writing and not writing and personal projects and group projects and literature and movies and life and other things over iced chaai (or whatever). I don't think I'll be able to make the 10pm writing group at austin java due to THE PROM. See y'all in the afterlife.
