The Frank Mills : "One Classy-Ass Show", Feb 22-24
hey guys!
as you may (or may not) know, the Frank Mills have been working on a sketch show for the past few months.
thursday feb. 22nd- sat feb 24th, we will be putting up a workshopped production of our show at the blue theatre. john ratliff will be rocking the musical direction and kacey samiee will be providing the technical know-how (and some sweet-ass voiceovers).
this one-weekend workshopped production will help us retool and tweak for the full-out production that we're running in may at the blue. it will also (hopefully) serve as a way to raise funds to finance our may run.
here is our humble/crass request
we'd love your support at the show, and would be pumped to have your classy-asses in the seats. this is shaping up to be a really awesome show, and we hope you will come check in out as well as tell other people that might be interested.
ticket deets
any AIC members and their guests can pay $10 (vs. the gen admission price of $15) for tickets. we'd admit fer free, but need to cover the cost of the nightly theatre rentals. anyone who is interested in volunteering for box office duties on any of the three nights will be comped. talk to dave buckman if you'd like to work the box office angle.
if you want to come, but cant swing it, lets chat about trade n' junk.
our goal
by bringing this show to a traditionally theatre-oriented space, we're aiming to begin bridging the gap between popular perceptions of comedy and theatre and reach out to Austin's typical theatre-going audience.
in the long run, we want theatre goers to be improv and sketch goers, and for the craft to be seen on par with traditional, scripted work.

If you disrespect your character, or play it just for laughs, it will sell some gags, but it's all technique.

CT loves them some Mills and we'd be there in a second if not for pesky pesky Tucson. Knock 'em dead!

p.s. for those who are planning to catch the last 1Wsho'down (which i recommend if you have not yet seen it), our show will end in plenty o' time to make it over to the hideout (about 9:30). werd.
