PCOC Public Art Party

Post by deroosisonfire »

This was sent to me by a friend. Seems like an event people might like, and a group it might behoove us to align ourselves with:

Do enjoy free art, beer, wine, food, prizes or all of the above?

If so, check out this event put on by the student group, Policy Coalition on Culture (PCOC)! It's this Friday at the Austin Museum of Art on Congress Ave.

PCOC works towards public policies and funding in support of the arts.

It's that time of year when we get to put on our favorite duds and take the 'Dillo downtown for the PCOC Public Art Party at the Austin Museum of Art.
What? Public Art Party at the Austin Museum of Art
Who? You, Mel Zeigler, former member of the Austin Arts Commission, and Megan Crigger, Director of the Austin Art in Public Places Program.
When? Friday, February 16, 7:30 -10:30 PM
What to expect? Food, drink, art activities, and PRIZES
What to wear? Whatever you like, but dressy attire is welcome!
How much? Free admission, but donations are also welcome

This year's Public Art Party at AMOA will feature the work of Austin-based public artists Mel Zeigler and the late Kate Ericson whose work illuminates mainstream American contexts and highlights individual community issues. You won't want to miss it!

Hope to see you there!

Feel free to pass this along to anyone else you think might be interested in attending.

here's the flyer.

Did this get bigger on reload? And where am I supposed to find "dressy" attire on such short notice!?

A very interesting opportunity.
Thank you and a great find!

I know Erin, too. I got this from her husband - he's in my department.

I have yet to meet Erin OR her husband, though I think I saw one of their names pop up on someone's Facebook friends list once.
