Way back when I moved to Austin, there was this thing called MoMfest. I got into improv by going to see We Could Be Heroes (now the Heroes of Comedy) do their new format Six Degrees at their MoMfest show. The cast was Shana Merlin, Sean Hill, Jeremy Lamb, Jon Benner, Craig Kotfas, and a sixth person I'm totally blanking on. Louis Wells? Ben Sterling? Lauren Zinn? Someone help me here.
Anyway, that was the show the made me realize improv was more than Who's Line. Within a few weeks I was a new cast member (years of acting experience helped here), and I was doing Six Degrees shows myself.
This Saturday I return to my roots like a washed up 80s icon on a VH1 special. For the next two months, Six Degrees will be happening at 8 pm at the Hideout on Saturdays. Come check it out.
