Funny! As we were cleaning out closets I found a rather large "book" about two feet by one, in red cardboard..."Stories by Julie Elizabeth Gillis" scrawled across the front.
Inside is lined school paper, reading:

"The New Year" dated 1-19-1977
Well this is a new year, Candy. What is a new year, sis? Its ah well I really don't know. Go ask mom. Hmmm. What is a new year I ask myself. I am supposed to know. Oh, I am going to forget it.
The End.

Odd, that I didn't have sister/

I bet many of you weren't born at the time I wrote that profound treatise on the futility of the yearly marking of time.
"Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won't adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet." Tom Robbins
