It was a Roman who said it was sweet to die for one's country. The Greeks never said it was sweet to die for anything. They had no vital lies.

Patton once said, "The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other poor bastard die for his."

I had this written on hy helmet when I was in the Marines. It was one of those things that just stuck with me since I first heard it.
