Hey Social Committee (esp. Valerie, Andy, & Kristin Firth)!
[EDIT!!]
Here is what I've gathered about this event:
"AIC's Same Year's Eve Show, Party, & Fundraiser"
Saturday, December 30th
Imps gather at the Hideout at 6pm
Show setup starting at 7pm
Four sets: Shortform Games, Longform, Musical & TBD
Show starts at 8pm
Intermission with "live broadcast" from Out-of-State-Improvisers.
Open & free to all Austin Improvisers *including PRESS*.
No comps. Tickets sold to those who want to see the show and party with us afterwards.
PLUS!
Party after show in Upstairs Hideout. Toast at Midnight and continued socializing with an optional sleepover.
Keg
(compliments of the AIC social fund & possible generosity of NXNW)
Big Strawberries & Cream cake
(compliments of the AIC social fund)
Noisemakers & Champagne for toasts & countdown at midnight

Potluck
[Sign-Up to come? - besides "food", we'll need cups, plasticware, napkins, plates, ice, soda. Those always get forgotten, and the AIC can't afford to pay for everything.]

The show starts at 8:00pm. Call is at 7:00pm.
The show costs $10. Press releases have been sent out. We haven't discussed a comp policy for friends and family. If we charge everyone, we have another $300-500 to play with. If we give each improviser a comp or two, we generate good community karma. Always free to press. What do you all think?
We can party at the Hideout as late as we like, as long as everyone promises not to steal from the coffeehouse. : )

holiday specialty shows tend to do well at the hideout and it's a saturday night.
don't give it a way when you can sell it, especially when you can sell it as a special event. i'm all for a couple comps for friends and family as a good will gesture and a party juicifier, but all this shit costs money. let's not screw the hideout or the aic coffers.

since the party is free and open to all the audience, i think it is reasonable to charge. I thik it will be hard to move a party in progress elsewhere. if we perform downstairs and party in the greenroom i will nicey-nice the pstairs theatre for sleepovering. thorough cleaning, floor covers, ambient lighting, throw pillows, the whole shebang.

Sorry, I'm away from the internets more than usual lately... We talked about this at the general meeting, but I should have made a post up here too
I am only semi in charge, I'm helping to organize the show stuff along with Andy. Val is in charge of the party stuff.
We're going to have four sets with an intermission, to get more people involved, the three from last year (games, long-form, musical) and one more TBD. If all goes technically well Jon Hunt & the LA folks will be providing intermission entertainment.
The show start time was already listed as 8pm in the press release.
I'm going to need volunteers the night of (tickets, tech, the usual) and cleanup later.
