Fundraiser Idea
Anything about the AIC itself.

I'm sure Christoph and I have plenty to donate, but a lot of it might be child related which isn't neccesarily a bad thing. I could also whip up some cookies and brownies if you thought that would be profitable.

I have three things of relative value that I am willing to part with:
a medium sized Zenith and it works great.
an old mountain/road hybrid bike that I never use anymore
an almost NEW push mower (It was too hard to push it around and didn't cut as well as my gas powered one.)
~
I also have an old Dell machine with a bad power-thing. I was told that I could get some money on ebay if I took it apart and sold the parts bc it was built as a cutting edge machine, with top of the line parts that are now highly valued. I don't want to do the work to sell the parts, but I also don't want to toss it out either.
I'm willing to give any of these things to any of you lovely improvisers, as long as you are willing to come by and pick them up.

nice clothes, thank you. yes, we'll have to work out a racking system. i've seen a large clothesline style on hangers work quite well.
i have a new idea, the troupe who gets the most sales in $ will win a prize yet to be determined. this might help grease the gears of getting donations. i'll have to get on the prize part of it.

I may be able to procure donations for sale from other folks as well. Would it be possible to set up some kind of storage facility, where things can wait till sale day?

Given the amount of sheer junk we need to get rid of, ColdTowne Manor is being tentatively offered as the location for a big honkin' AIC yard sale. Tentatively. maybe people should start talking dates?

That's a good offer there, AS. Jeremy, I know you'd had ideas about a warehouse or parking lot area.
What say you?
I'll bake stuff for the bake sale.

i'm thinking coldtowne THEATER might be a better venue for a few reasons. more central than ctowne manor, more hard surface for furniture and junk, a stage and lights for entertainment, some free publicity for the theatre, plenty parking.
as for storage until go time, i don't know what to tell you. i have a small shed in my backyard where i've been putting furniture and against my roommate's wishes i can put some stuff in my living room... other than that, i'm not sure what to tell you about storage.
i haven't thought one iota more about this since the meeting. if we're talking dates, i'm thinking jan 20 maybe.
i wil contact people interested in helping on this pretty soon and the more people say they can donate, the better i feel about going forward with it.
thanks,
beard

CTTheater might be central, but we've already done a garage sale there, and traffic was pretty darn low. People go to neighborhoodly neighborhoods for these things. i think.
CTManor would get just as much traffic and we gotta big flat front yard for junk.

It sounds like a great offer, and I think we could offer our place as back up should we need to (she said without asking Chris, her loving husband). If you have a lead on an actual warehouse space when would the deadline be?
Bake sale, bake sale.
